For those who are very basic and want to learn wordpress from wordpress.org, here is how we install XAMPP before later we will install wordpress on our harddisk.

First prepare your xampp file. If you don't have yet, go here to download. Choose the .exe one because it is the easiest way for the very beginner to install. When you are ready, simply double click the file.

You can see I use xampp version 1.7.7 for windows xp for sample. Click Next button to continue.

Choose the location you want to install. It can be anywhere in the directories availabe on your harddisk. The default is on c:\ directory of windows. Again click Next button.


You are offered to whether or not the installation will create shortcut on desktop and/or the start menu programs. Click Install and file will be extracted and copied onto the chosen directory.


The process takes some moment and then followed by configuring xampp automatically on the operating system.


Click Finish to end the installation.


Entire process has completed and to enter directly to control panel just click Yes button



By clicking Start button both to activate Apache and MySql you are ready to run your local web written using php language and mysql database including your wordpress but later after completely installed as well.
